Festival Barocco : Maria Solozobova

MARIA SOLOZOBOVA

Maria Solozobova was born in Moscow. Maria Solozobova belongs to the most promising violinists of the new generation. 
Maria graduated at the Moscow Gnessin School of music for gifted children and the famous Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory where she got concert diploma with honours. She went on to obtain her Master of Arts in Specialized Music Performance at the Music University in Zurich and Academy of Music Basel, where she got diploma as a soloist in 2008. She studied violin with Prof Z.Bron and Prof R. Oleg. Maria Solozobova has won many prizes in international music competitions: First Prize and Special Audience Prize at the international Brahms competition in Austria (2000), Second Prize at the international competition in Portugal (2002) where she again received the Special Audience Prize for her outstanding performance; first Prize at the W.A. Mozart competition "Duttweiler-Hug" in Zurich (2005). Second prize at the chamber music competition with trio E.M.I "Jeunesses Musicales" in Switzerland (2006). Prize-winner at the international Tibor Varga competition in Sion (2006) and at the international violin competition “Rodolfo Lipizer Prize” in Italy (2007).

Maria was invited as a soloist and chamber musician at the international festivals: Verbier-Festival and International Menhuin-Festival in Gstaad (Switzerland), Tartini-Festival in Slovenia, International Music Festival Korsmolm (Finland), Chamber Music Festival “Entcentro de musica y academia Santander” in Spain, Austrian Summer Festival Prague-Vienna-Budapest.

Maria Solozobova has worked with many leading orchestras: Basel Symphonic Orchestra, Zurich Chamber Orchestra, Cape Philharmonic Orchestra, Taipei Philharmonic Orchestra, Tschaikowsky Symphony Orchestra Moscow, Russian State Symphony Orchestra, Symphonisches Orchester Zurich, Genève Chamber Orchestra, Camerata Zürich Chamber Orchestra, Moskau Chamber Orchestra, Ljubljana Philharmonic Orchestra, Roumanian Philharmonic Orchestra.

She has performed in the most renowned concert halls as the Berlin and Cologne Philharmonic, Great Hall of the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, Concert Hall in Vienna, Philharmonic Hall in Lubljana, Stadtcasino in Basel, Victoria Hall in Geneve, the Tonhalle in Zurich, the National Concert Hall in Taipei, the Concert Hall of Tainan Municipal Cultural Center. She so had the opportunity to work with renowned conductors such as Muhai Tang, V. Virbitzky, P. Csaba, M. Jurowsky, V. Fedoseyev, H. Griffiths, V. Bulachov, M. Hofstetter. She performed chamber music with notable musicians: the pianists A. Volodin, A. Gavrilov, U. Koella, G. Wyss, Y. Smirnov, I. Vinogradova, the cellists Sol Gabetta, D. Geringas, the violinists H. Schneerberger, A. Lysy, I. Bochkova.

She has a wide repertoire from baroque, classical, romantic to contemporary music. Maria's performance is characterized by the beautiful warm sound of her Italian violin from Nicolo Gagliano, her virtuosity, spirit, convincing and professional stage performance.

Maria Solozobova’s first CD with recital, has been published by Hardstudio Switzerland in 2005. In December 2007, Maria’s second CD "Tchaikovsky and Ernst" has been published by Label Antes ( Bella Musica Edition). It has been celebrated by the international press as an outstanding debut.

In October 2005 Maria Solozobova was invited as 1st Concertmaster by the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, Geneva, Switzerland.

Maria's tour in Taiwan "Leading to Bright Future" in September 2008 with the Taipei Philarmonic orchestra was very successful.

In the 2008/2009 season she made a concert tour "Klassische Musik im Licht der Sonnen Energie" through famous Swiss concert halls: Tonhalle Zürich, Stadtcasino Basel and many others. Maria performed a great variety of different concerts with leading orchestras and conductors.

On 26 April 2009 Maria Solozobova gave outstanding debut at the Tonhalle Zürich with Haydn, Paganini and Tchaikovsky violin concertos with the Zürich Chamber Orchestra conducted by Maestro Muhai Tang. In 2009/2010, Maria Solozobova has successfully performed as a soloist at numerous important concert halls, including the Tonhalle Zürich, Victoria Hall Geneva, Stadt Casino Basel. She further performed as a chamber musician and soloist with the Ensemble "Camerata Musica Barocca " in the Auditorium Wolfsberg, in the Grand Resort Bad-Ragaz Music Festival and in the famous church of St. Peters in Zürich.

Highlights during the 2010/11 season include performances with the Moscow State Symphonic Orchestra (Vladimir Fedoseev),tour in South Africa with Cape Philharmonic Orchestra, State Symphony Orchestra in Bloemfontein and recitals with piano, U.S tour with the Ensemble "Camerata Musica Barocca" , tour with the Taipei Philharmonic Orchestra in Taiwan and performances with Bach ,Vivaldi violin concertos on the"Festival Barocco di Viterbo" in Italy.

The new CD Album with baroque music will be published by Label Antes (Bella Musica) in Juni 2011.
